Sohini was founded by Vinay ,Swati and Ashlesha Deshmukh to promote and preserve all genres of Indian Classical Music towards global peace , tranquility and human wellness. Sohini has organized several prestigious concerts at various cities including Hyderabad, Kolkata, San Francisco , Houston ,Amravati , Pune and Bangalore over the last 8 years. The founders of Sohini believe that music, besides being the language of the human soul, could be a panacea to complex, pressing modern human maladies. The maestros Pt.Vishwa Mohan Bhat, Pt.Praveen Godkhindi,Ustad Shaheed Parvez, Ustad Najmuddin Javed, Vidushi Indrani Choudhuri, Vidushi Anupama Bhagwat, Bhajan Samrat Shri Anup Jalota, Pandit Subroto Bhattacharya, Vidwan Dipankar Ray, Pandit Ronu Majumdar , Pandit Soumen Nandy and several others have performed at Sohini’s concerts in the past. Sohini’s mission to encourage young talented musicians by pairing them up with senior, acclaimed musicians has been applauded by communities across the globe. Sohini has lent a helping hand to talented financially struggling musicians including budding artists with special abilities seeking a platform to perform especially through the tough years of the pandemic. This has included online and offline concerts , studio recordings , sponsorships , artist referrals and help with auditions to major concerts. Vinay and his son play Tabla and are disciples of Vidwan Srinivas Rao.
